Work Together to Promote Clean and Low-Carbon Transformation and Development of Global Energy

Zou Lei, Chairman of China Datang, held talks with Dr. Angela Wilkinson, Secretary General and CEO of the World Energy Council, on the sidelines of the 24th Conference on the Electric Power Supply Industry & Exhibition.

They engaged in friendly discussions on tackling climate change, promoting China’s and the worlds’ energy transition towards clean and low-carbon solutions, advancing carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, and deepening practical cooperation.

Zou extended a warm welcome to Dr. Angela's visit to China for discussions with China Datang on potential collaboration. He also shared information on the business growth and international investment strategy of China Datang.

China Datang places great importance on collaboration and with WEC. The potential for cooperation between the two entities spans various areas, including international energy cooperation, energy transition and development, technology introduction and application, ecological conservation, and talent cultivation, said the chairman.

Zou expressed the hope that this meeting would establish a long-term and effective communication mechanism for China Datang and WEC to foster deeper exchanges in cutting-edge technologies and talent development and explore energy transition solutions and promote international cooperation, thereby contributing to the global pursuit of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals and social sustainable development at large.

China Datang is ready to actively participate in events organized by WEC, such as the 26th World Energy Congress, and engage in discussions with global energy industry experts, scholars, and business leaders on energy security and transformation, contributing China Datang’s part to the sustainable development, Zou said.

Dr. Angela expressed her hope for enhanced collaboration with China Datang in areas such as idea dissemination, technological exchanges, and talent cultivation to tackle climate change, drive low-carbon energy transformation, and foster sustainable development for the global community.
