On May 21, 2026, a trilateral memorandum of cooperation (MoC) was signed at the forum on China–Uzbekistan economic and investment cooperation held in Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, to jointly develop a demonstration project integrating modern agriculture and renewable energy in New Tashkent City, Uzbekistan.

The agreement was signed by Uzbekistan's Ministry of Energy, Shaanxi Agricultural Development Group Co., Ltd., and China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd.

Akbar Mukhamedjanov, Director of the National Scientific Research Institute of Renewable Energy under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Li Xiaofeng, Vice President of Shaanxi Agricultural Development Group; and Li Deyong, Vice President of China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., signed the MoC on behalf of their respective organizations.

Aligned with Uzbekistan's development strategy for New Tashkent City and its broader green energy transition efforts, the MoC marks a significant step forward in China–Uzbekistan cooperation in the integrated development of modern agriculture and renewable energy.
