The 12-day Third Datang International Employees’ China Tour concluded successfully at China Datang’s headquarters on October 21.

Twelve employees of China Datang from Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, along with four journalists from media outlets in Indonesia, Myanmar and Cambodia, visited integrated wind, solar, hydropower and energy storage bases operated by China Datang in Yunnan and Guangxi provinces.

They explored the company’s digital and intelligent operations and maintenance systems and saw firsthand its efforts to fulfill its social responsibilities in local communities. The tour offered a unique opportunity for learning about green energy and fostering cultural exchange across borders.

The itinerary included visits to Guanyinyan Hydropower Station, Jinpingxi Wind Farm, Laoyingyan PV project and Xinping Energy Storage Station. Through these visits, the participants gained a systematic understanding of China Datang’s complementary multi-energy system in southwest China.

During the wet season, hydropower takes the lead in supplying electricity, while wind and solar power supplement generation during the dry season. Energy storage systems help smooth short-term fluctuations in power output. Together, these facilities deliver more than 10 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by over one million tonnes.

China Datang is advancing the development of smart power plants across its wind, solar, hydropower, thermal power and energy storage operations. Its homegrown innovations, including the "Yuheng" artificial intelligence (AI)-powered energy-meteorology large model, an equipment maintenance knowledge model, and digital inspection robots, have been deployed at more than 2,000 power generation sites nationwide.

These technologies have helped hundreds of power plants upgrade their digital and intelligent operations, enabling them to operate with fewer staff or even without on-site personnel.

The tour also featured visits focused on corporate social responsibility. In Yunnan, the participants visited industrial assistance projects, while in Guangxi, they learned about education support initiatives in Dahua.

These visits gave them a firsthand look at how China Datang has invested in local communities and helped rural areas grow and prosper beyond the construction and operation of power projects.

From sharing technical expertise to learning from one another’s cultures, the tour fostered mutual understanding and closer ties among participants. By connecting communities through energy infrastructure and bringing people closer through exchanges, China Datang’s overseas cooperation stories consolidate the foundation of partnership through technological interoperability and bring communities closer via cultural integration, forming a vivid China Datang testimony to international cooperation on green energy.
