China Datang’s Lvsigang Expansion Project Enters Commercial Operation

2026-10-12

Unit 5 of China Datang's Lvsigang 2×1,000 MW expansion project successfully completed its 168-hour full-load trial run at the first attempt on September 30. The unit has officially been handed over for production and entered commercial operation.

The unit achieved an average load rate of 100% during the trial, with stable equipment operation and excellent environmental performance. All technical parameters and economic indicators met their design specifications.

Once both units are in operation, the project will generate nearly 10 billion kWh of electricity a year, enough to meet the annual power demand of about three million households.

It will save approximately 197,000 tonnes of standard coal and cut carbon dioxide emissions by about 513,000 tonnes annually, equivalent to adding roughly 20,000 hectares of forest.

The Lvsigang project will serve as a major power pillar for the Yangtze River Delta region, further strengthening the region's power supply security and enhancing the grid's peak load supply assurance and peak regulation capabilities.

It will also help optimize the regional energy mix and provide solid support for high-quality economic and social development of local regions.
