The year 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of Chinese President Xi Jinping's proposal of the initiative for China to work with ASEAN countries for a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It is also the 20th anniversary of the CAEXPO and CABIS.
During the 20th CAEXPO and CABIS, more than 70 economic and trade promotion activities were held to strengthen China-ASEAN cooperation. The exhibition focused on the construction of the Version 3.0 China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, and highlighted cooperation in key areas such as digital economy, green economy, and industrial and supply chain security and stability. Special exhibition areas for digital technologies, listed companies, and industrial design, among other fields, were set up for the first time during this year's CAEXPO.
More than 40 countries and nearly 2,000 enterprises took part in the 20th CAEXPO, including 350 well-known enterprises, with many on the lists of Fortune Global 500 companies and China's top 500 companies.

This was the 20th consecutive year China Datang has taken part in the CAEXPO and CABIS. China Datang's exhibition at the CAEXPO this year, with the theme "Provide Clean Energy to Light up a Better Life", showcased the company's strengths and achievements in such fields as clean energy, smart power plants, international business, rural revitalization, and its practices and sense of responsibility in striving to play a leading role among enterprises contributing to the Beautiful China Initiative.
The exhibition zone of China Datang comprised four sections, with each spotlighting a distinctive subject, namely China Datang's founding mission, course of development, major undertakings in Guangxi, and social responsibilities.
The top of the exhibition zone featured six flowing water-shaped red and white boards, symbolizing China Datang's longstanding commitment to green and low-carbon development centered on new energy such as hydropower, wind power and photovoltaic power in Guangxi.
The "six streams of water" were designed to be a metaphor for China Datang's relentless efforts to take root in Guangxi, leverage its foothold in the southwest region of China, and actively expand toward the ASEAN to promote high-quality development. They also represent the tremendous driving forces for China Datang's continuous progress in advancing projects related to thermal power, hydropower, wind power, solar power, gas power, and nuclear power and coordinated development of the company's six major industries.
The auspicious cloud-shaped design at the end of the "six streams of water" symbolizes the thriving growth of China Datang's business across its "six powers" and "six industries".

After the opening ceremony of the events, Zou and other senior executives visited the exhibition zone of China Datang. He noted that China Datang should make the most of the platform of the CAEXPO to deepen cooperation with ASEAN countries in areas like clean energy, green finance, and international business.
The company should actively engage in high-quality development of power generated from clean energy sources in Southeast Asia, and promote international production capacity cooperation for mutual benefit and win-win results, so as to contribute to the building of an even closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, Zou said.
