China Datang and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, along with other Uzbek departments and enterprises, signed five agreements, including a strategic cooperation framework agreement, in Beijing on Jan. 22nd.

Zou Lei, Chairman of China Datang, and Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, attended and addressed the signing ceremony.

Before the signing ceremony, Zou and Khodjaev held talks and engaged in discussions on enhancing energy cooperation.

Tao Yunpeng, CFO of China Datang, Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Energy, and Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, also attended the above activities.

During the meeting, Zou extended a warm welcome to the visit of Khodjaev and his delegation. He also expressed gratitude for the trust and support shown by the Uzbekistan government to China Datang.

Lauding the leap-frog development in China-Uzbekistan relations, Zou noted that guided by the important consensus of the leaders of China and Uzbekistan, both countries have reaped fruitful outcomes from their cooperation across various sectors.

With its abundant natural resources, Uzbekistan holds great potential for a strong economic momentum. China Datang places great importance on and actively engages in business development in Uzbekistan, Zou said.

Zou pointed out that the signing of the five agreements marks a significant milestone in the collaborative efforts between China Datang and Uzbekistan, heralding a new beginning of mutually beneficial cooperation that will elevate the quality of the partnership. He said that China Datang will take this opportunity and leverage its expertise in power generation, talent, technology, management, project construction, and operation to drive the development of clean energy projects in Uzbekistan with high quality and standard.

China Datang will strive to construct world-class power plants in Uzbekistan, set an example of energy cooperation between China and Uzbekistan, and make substantial contributions to the transformation and advancement of Uzbekistan's power industry and energy revolution, Zou noted.

Khodjaev congratulated on the successful signing of the significant cooperation agreement between the two parties. He noted that Uzbekistan and China enjoy a close and friendly relationship, and that Uzbekistan supports Chinese companies' involvement in energy development and construction in Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan is at the forefront of green energy development in Central Asia, and green energy and technology play a crucial role in driving Uzbekistan’s reform and openness, Khodjaev noted.

China Datang's commitment to facilitating the green transition agrees with Uzbekistan's strategy for energy transformation. The signing of these important cooperation agreements will elevate the cooperation between the two sides to new highs.

Uzbekistan will create a favorable investment environment, providing political and policy assurances for China Datang's investment and development in Uzbekistan. The government and relevant enterprises will also offer support and services to ensure the successful implementation of China Datang's projects in Uzbekistan, Khodjaev said.
