Zou Lei Pays Visit to CDTO Cambodia Project Companies
Zou Lei, Chairman of China Datang, paid an inspection visit to CDTO Cambodia project companies and had discussions with the company staff, during an official visit to Cambodia by the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference on Nov. 23.
During the visit, Zou learned about the working and living conditions of the employees, gaining insights into their roles in production, green development, technological innovation, and risk management.
Engaging in face-to-face discussions with both Chinese and Cambodian employees, the chairman also attentively listened to their suggestions and opinions, while also setting forth requirements to further enhance the high-quality development of China Datang's overseas business.

During the discussions, Zou reviewed the work report presented by Cambodia companies, acknowledging their accomplishments. He expressed gratitude and condolences to the dedicated overseas employees for their hard work and selfless contributions.
Noting that his visit to the companies allowed him to deeply sense the employees' love for China Datang and their passion for their roles, the chairman said that the companies boasts a vibrant entrepreneurial atmosphere, with employees displaying a positive and proactive mindset.
It’s been ten years since the Cambodia companies came into operation. This year also marks 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. The companies have consistently achieved profitability, effectively supporting local economic and social development, and strengthening the longstanding friendship between China and Cambodia, which serves as a vivid example of building a China-Cambodia community of shared future, he said.

China is comprehensively advancing national rejuvenation through a Chinese path to modernization. Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed an overall plan for achieving modernization at the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation this year, a year that also marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Cambodia and the "China-Cambodia Friendship Year", Zou said, adding that the "diamond hexagon" cooperation framework between China and Cambodia will propel bilateral cooperation to new historical heights.
China Datang has operated projects in Cambodia for ten years, building a brand and creating a solid foundation for future development, said Zou, who stressed that in 2023, guided by its mission of "Having a World-Embracing Vision, Having a Shared Future", the overseas business sector of China Datang has actively aligned with the energy development strategies of relevant countries, and completed the signing of multiple projects as well as facilitated high-level visits. Zou commended the achievements the overseas sector has made in the timely completion of the Meulaboh project and the successful signing of the power purchase agreement for Pak Beng project, and believed that the future is promising.
Zou hoped that China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd. (CDTO) and Yunnan Southeast-Asia Economy and Technology Investment Industrial Co., Ltd. (the parent company of Cambodia project companies) will continue to strive for excellence, aim high with more innovations, and make new contributions to the high-quality development of China Datang's overseas business and to the Belt and Road Initiative.
