Saihanba Wind Farm is located at the junction of Hexigten Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia and Weichang County, Hebei Province, with an average altitude of 1,750 meters. It is one of the best onshore wind farms in the country. The wind farm has an installed capacity of 1,520MW, with 1,136 wind turbines of 14 types from 9 wind turbine manufacturers. It is the world's largest wind farm invested and operated by the same entity within the same area.  

The people from Datang Saihanba Wind Farm take up the historical mission of protecting the ecological environment and developing green energy, creating a green miracle of wind power construction in the Alpine region in Saihanba and making a classic example of creating harmony between ecological civilization and regional economic development. On October 18, 2004, the first phase of the Saihanba Wind Farm officially started construction. On August 12, 2005, the first wind turbine was connected to the grid, becoming the first wind power project of CDT. With the spirit of "relentless fighting with wind and sand", CDT keeps on winning more victories: the largest operating wind farm in Asia was built in 2006; the largest operating wind farm in the world was built in 2007; the first 1,000MW-scale wind farm in China was built in 2012; in 2017, the installed capacity reached 1,510MW.

Datang Renewable Chifeng Company, the operator of Saihanba Wind Farm, has built the first centralized control center with equipment operation right in China. With the support of 4G network and mobile terminals, the wind farm has achieved full business coverage and total online management. A total of 32 patents have been obtained. A number of scientific and technological achievements have been awarded, such as the "High-tech Enterprise", "National Excellent Enterprise in the Power Industry", "China Electricity Council 4A Standardization Good Behavior Enterprise", etc. The company has made tremendous contributions to regional economic development, energy conservation and emission reduction, protecting the green mountains and clear water with practical actions.
