Zou Lei Meets Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov
Zou Lei, Chairman of China Datang, met with Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov on September 20, during Zou’s working visit to Uzbekistan.
Zou was invited to attend a reception celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China held by the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan. At the event, Chairman Zou and Prime Minister Aripov held talks on deepening the alignment of the Belt and Road cooperation and the new Uzbekistan development strategy, actively implementing important consensus reached by the two heads of state, systematically planning to strengthen practical cooperation in the field of electricity in Uzbekistan.
Li Jianwei, Vice President of China Datang, was present at the talks.
Zou and Aripov agreed to further enhance broad cooperation in investment and development in areas such as energy, electricity, infrastructure, and joint technological research in Uzbekistan, to contribute to advancing the construction of the Green Silk Road and building a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.
Zou also held talks with Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Energy, in Tashkent on the morning of September 20.
Also present at the meeting were Li Jianwei, and Sun Guojun, Vice President of Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC).
In the presence of Zou and Mirzamahmudov, representatives from China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd. and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan signed a cooperation framework agreement on the Navoi wind, solar, BESS hybrid project.
Moreover, China Datang, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, DEC, and Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation, signed a MOU on establishing Silk Road Energy Joint R&D Center.
Zou paid a visit to the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan in the afternoon of the same day to discuss furthering China Datang's work in Uzbekistan with Ambassador Yu Jun. Li Jianwei also joined the meeting.
Representatives from China Datang General Office, International Business Department, China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., Central Asia Representative Office, and Buka Project Construction Office were present at the event.
